When he’s not behind the mic, you’ll find him with his young son, skateboarding, playing lacrosse, skating, swimming, playing football or just having fun!
Radio and music have always been a part of Rod’s life. There was always a radio on in the house or the car. He started his broadcast career in Vancouver and has worked in Winnipeg and Calgary, where he met Matthew McBride.
In May of 2014 Rod joined Matthew at Tri-Cities Radio as the morning host. Bringing with a sense of community and fun!
One of his favorite quotes is “The will forget what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel”[/vc_column_text]
Matthew McBride is a long-time British Columbian, growing up just down the road in ranching country in Stave Falls, and later Haney (Maple Ridge). After spending several years traveling the world and across the country in the radio game, he settled down in the Lower Mainland and built a small 4-station radio company, of which CKPM-FM is the largest station. He loves reading, golf, boating and flying!
AKA “Jackie Bee” is the voice of the CKPM FM Community Calendar and has been living in the Tri-Cities since 2011. Born in North Vancouver, Jackie grew up in the Bahamas after her family moved to Grand Bahama Island when she was only two. Jackie is the youngest of four siblings and had an early desire to be heard and express herself. By age thirteen she started a YouTube channel well before it became popular, and had thousands of followers. Jackie feels growing up in a foreign country has made her appreciate her homeland, and it’s given her the desire to travel, and learn more about the world. Dubbed “Bahama Mama” when she returned to school in Coquitlam, she will always cherish her Bahamas life, but she’s glad to be home, and is proud of her Canadian Metis roots. Jackie has studied voice, and is an aspiring singer and guitar player. She is currently an intern editor’s assistant with TheBahamasWeekly.com, her mother’s web-based news and events portal. She is a Gleneagle graduate and volunteers with the Hoy-Scott Creek Watershed Society which works to sustain wild salmon in the area.
